Number Puzzle

Number Puzzle is an addictive puzzle game for Windows. To get started, launch Number Puzzle. Specify a difficulty level by clicking on the difficulty up or down arrows:

Then press New Puzzle to generate a puzzle to solve:

To solve the puzzle, enter the digits 1 to 9 in the empty squares. Ensure that each digit appears exactly once in each row, column, and set of 9 squares. The sets of 9 squares are drawn with alternating white and gray backgrounds.

For example:

Click on an underlined square with the mouse and type a digit to change the square's digit. The active square always has a flashing underline. Click on an underlined square and press the spacebar, backspace, or Delete to clear a square.

You can press Check Solution at any time to verify your solution. If your solution is incorrect, an incorrect square will be selected at random. Press Quit to quit solving a puzzle.

Memos

Sometimes it's convenient to make notes about a particular square. Right-click a square and enter a memo:

After you press OK, the square will have a yellow triangle in its top, right corner. When you move the mouse over the square the text that you entered will be displayed:

You can also add a memo by double-clicking an underlined square.

Settings

Select the Options menu and click on Settings to specify if the elapsed time will be displayed, whether or not incorrect digits can be entered, and whether or not memos will be automatically cleared when digits are entered:
