Number Puzzle
Number Puzzle is an addictive puzzle game for Windows. To get started, launch Number Puzzle.
Specify a difficulty level by clicking on the difficulty up or down arrows:
Then press New Puzzle to generate a puzzle to solve:
To solve the puzzle, enter the digits 1 to 9 in the empty squares. Ensure that each
digit appears exactly once in each row, column, and set of 9 squares. The sets
of 9 squares are drawn with alternating white and gray backgrounds.
For example:
-
Consider the topmost row in the above graphic. Since it already contains 8, 9, 2,
and 6, none of those digits can be added to that row.
-
Since the leftmost row
contains 8, 4, 7, 3, you cannot add any of those digits to that column.
-
The set of 9 squares on the top left with the white background contains the digits
8, 9, 7 and 4. None of those digits can be added to that set of 9 squares.
Click on an underlined square with the mouse and type a digit to change the square's
digit. The active square always has a flashing underline. Click on an underlined square and press the spacebar, backspace, or Delete
to clear a square.
You can press Check Solution at any time to verify your
solution. If your solution is incorrect, an incorrect
square will be selected at random. Press Quit to quit
solving a puzzle.

Sometimes it's convenient to make notes about a particular square. Right-click a
square and enter a memo:
After you press OK, the square will have a yellow triangle in its top, right corner.
When you move the mouse over the square the text that you entered will be displayed:
